Applicants will be required to provide a document confirming the absence of criminal history from their country of residency and their country of origin, if the latter is different from the state where they live. In addition to that Identity Malta will conduct thorough verifications of its own via international sources (<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">INTERPOL<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">) and local authorities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"western\">Maltese Citizenship by Investment may be granted to the applicant if the latter meets four main conditions:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"ru-RU\"><span lang=\"en-CA\"><b>Satisfies the e-Residency (symbolic indicator of presence) requirement:<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u00a0Provide proof of having been resident in Malta for 1 year prior to the issue of a certificate of naturalization.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"ru-RU\"><span lang=\"en-CA\"><i>E-Residency fees:\u00a0<\/i><\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">Main applicant:\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u20ac5,000,\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">Spouse:\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u20ac1,000,\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">Family member:\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u20ac1,000<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"ru-RU\"><span lang=\"en-US\">This is a symbolic indicator of a candidate\u2019s presence in Malta, in other words applicants and their families may not be physically present on the islands during the whole required period (12 months), however, their virtual presence will count instead.<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u00a0A candidate is required to provide evidence of sufficient connections and close ties to the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>Hold immovable residential property situated in Malta having a minimum value of 350,000 EUR or lease immovable residential property in Malta for a minimum annual rent of 16,000 EUR (property purchased or leased must be retained for at least five years).<\/li>\n<li>There are a few important details you should be aware of:<\/li>\n<li>\n<p lang=\"en-US\">After making a qualifying investment, i.e. buying or renting a property in Malta, an applicant will receive an e-Residency card, which will confirm his\/her presence in the country. Other benefits of this card are the possibility to start and run a business; taking advantage of various services, such as banking, impositions, etc.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;DOCUMENTS&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1561305810183-6299b346-1d06&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"ru-RU\"><span lang=\"en-CA\">Below is provided a list of documents that our company will submit on behalf of the applicant to Identity Malta Agency (IM)<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">. Please note that the list below is not complete, and that IM may ask for any additional document(s) if they deem it necessary.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"western\">Applications Forms;<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\">Police conduct certificates (from the country of origin and from the country of residence, if applicable);<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\">Proof that the main applicant has been a resident of Malta for a period of one year preceding naturalization;<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\">Medical certificates stating that the applicant and his dependents are not suffering from contagious diseases and are in good health;<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\">An undertaking to remit the Contribution;<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\">Proof of investment in real estate projects or government assets in Malta in accordance with the regulations;<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\">Certificates: Birth and marriage (if applicable);<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\">Certified copies of all pages of your ID card, present and expired passports;<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\">Recent passport-sized, colour photographs<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\">Military book (for anyone who served in the army)<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\">The most recent bank certificates and statements;<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\">Certificate of business incorporation, work letter;<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\" lang=\"ru-RU\"><span lang=\"en-CA\">Tax clearance;<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"western\">Confirmation of having an international health insurance (Global Health Coverage);<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\">Residency certificate<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;PROCESS&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1561305820989-76c8c51c-fd6f&#8221;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"ru-RU\"><span lang=\"en-CA\">Identity Malta Agency (IM) is the only Public administration authority in charge of\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">t<\/span><span lang=\"en\">he Malta Individual Investor Programme (MIIP)<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u00a0and the step-by-step immigration process is as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"western\">You sign an agreement with our organization.<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\">You should gather all accompanying documents and pay administrative and company\u2019s fees.<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\">Our certified translators will render all your documents into English.<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\"><span lang=\"en-CA\">E-Residency criteria will be met: the main applicant and his\/her family will come to Malta, acquire an address and attend an appointment with IM (<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\"><b>3 weeks<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">).<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">\u00a0-The applicant must fulfill the e-Residency requirement, i.e. being physically or virtually present in the country for\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\"><b>12 months<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"western\"><span lang=\"en-CA\">Due diligence verifications will be made (<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\"><b>2 weeks<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">).<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"western\" lang=\"ru-RU\"><span lang=\"en-CA\">Our agents will submit an application on your behalf to the authorities of Malta.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"western\" lang=\"ru-RU\"><span lang=\"en-CA\">You should pay your registration and administrative fees and attach the Confirmation of payment to your file. Then we will submit the latter to IM which will study it and send us its initial resolution (<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\"><b>2-3 months<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">).<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"western\" lang=\"ru-RU\"><span lang=\"en-CA\">If the application is approved, we will receive a notice from IM.<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"western\" lang=\"ru-RU\"><span lang=\"en-CA\">When the application is fully approved, the applicant must pay the Government fees and make a qualifying investment within 4 months after the approval of the application (<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\"><b>4 months<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">).<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"western\" lang=\"ru-RU\"><span lang=\"en-CA\">Every applicant must\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">swear of fealty to Malta in person and receive his\/her naturalization certificate (<\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\"><b>1-2 weeks<\/b><\/span><span lang=\"en-CA\">).<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"western\" lang=\"ru-RU\">Then the Petitioner (or our company) may apply for the biometric passports of Malta for the main applicant and all the qualifying relatives.<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\" lang=\"ru-RU\">Once the Maltese passport was issued for the main applicant, the spouse and the children of the latter will automatically receive their passports as well.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p class=\"western\" lang=\"ru-RU\"><b>Procedure timeline for Malta Passport<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"western\" lang=\"ru-RU\">Client must visit\u00a0Malta\u00a0in order to have biometrics taken and all submissions in respect of residence and e-residence application are attended to, opening of bank account, rent an apartment, buy medical insurance etc.\u00a0Residency card issued and visa free travel within Schengen zone. This kick starts the 12 month\u00a0Malta\u00a0residence requirement prior to issue of the Certificates of Naturalization.\u00a0An initial non-refundable fee of\u00a0 5 000\u00a0<span lang=\"en-CA\">\u20ac<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0is due to be paid to the authorities together with the residence application. We plan, negotiate and agree a residency ruling with the authorities. NB authorities require 1-2 weeks to obtain preliminary police clearance prior to\u00a0Maltameeting to have biometrics taken. Biometrics data is captured and stored on the\u00a0Malta\u00a0residence card.<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\" lang=\"ru-RU\">Once all applications and documentation requirements in terms of the\u00a0Malta\u00a0Citizenship regulations have been attended to, the\u00a0Malta\u00a0Citizenship application pack is submitted.\u00a0This may be done at any time after application for residence;<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\" lang=\"ru-RU\">+ 2 weeks: MIIP application pack is reviewed by the authorities during which time we attend meetings with the authorities in order to discuss the Citizenship application pack.\u00a0Once they are satisfied with all documentation and information, a statement is issued for the payment of the due diligence fees (7 500\u00a0<span lang=\"en-CA\">\u20ac<\/span>\u00a0for the main applicant), bank charges (200\u00a0<span lang=\"en-CA\">\u20ac<\/span>) and\u00a0passport fees\u00a0(500\u00a0<span lang=\"en-CA\">\u20ac<\/span>\u00a0per applicant\/ dependent) as well as a non-refundable contribution of \u00a05 000\u00a0<span lang=\"en-CA\">\u20ac<\/span>\u00a0;<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\" lang=\"ru-RU\">+ 4 months: the authorities carry out a rigorous due diligence process during which time all applications go through a 120 days four tier due diligence screening. The authorities may request additional documentation\u00a0during this time. After 120 days the authorities issue their in principle response;<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\" lang=\"ru-RU\">+ 20 days: Main applicant must effect the contribution of\u00a0 640 000\u00a0<span lang=\"en-CA\">\u20ac<\/span>\u00a0(650 000\u00a0<span lang=\"en-CA\">\u20ac<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 10 000\u00a0<span lang=\"en-CA\">\u20ac<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0paid at the outset).<br \/>\nContribution of\u00a0 640 000\u00a0<span lang=\"en-CA\">\u20ac<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0in respect of the main applicant is due to be paid directly to the authorities as well as contribution funds for family dependents ;<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\" lang=\"ru-RU\">+ 4 months: All other investment requirements must be attended to including an investment in government bonds, stocks or government securities equivalent to 150 000\u00a0<span lang=\"en-CA\">\u20ac<\/span>.and the purchase\/ lease of\u00a0immovable property of at least 350 000\u00a0<span lang=\"en-CA\">\u20ac<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0(property purchase price) Immovable property and government securities must be held 5 years.\u00a0All\u00a0interest on bonds and capital gains on the property accrue to the benefit of the applicant.<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\" lang=\"ru-RU\">Evidence of investments undertaken and proof of residence are submitted by us to the authorities;<\/li>\n<li class=\"western\" lang=\"ru-RU\">Authorities issue Certificate of Naturalisation. In practice, the authorities are committed to issue the certificate of naturalisation within 12 months from the issue of\u00a0Malta\u00a0residence card. All applicants over 18 years old must visit\u00a0Malta\u00a0at the end of the process in order to take the Oath of Allegiance.\u00a0Application for a passport submitted and all filings with the Civil Registry at attended to. This kick starts the 12 month\u00a0Malta\u00a0residence requirement prior to issue of the Certificates of Naturalization.\u00a0An initial non-refundable fee of\u00a0 5 000\u00a0<span lang=\"en-CA\">\u20ac<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0is due to be paid to the authorities together with the residence application.
